June Quarter 2019 Market Update – Perth Property Part 2


– Welcome to part two of the REIWA June quarter property update for the Perth southeast region. And on average, properties sold
faster in the last quarter, by 3 days, with an average
selling time of 77 days. Leasing a property was
taking on average 41 days, in the same period. In positive signs that the
Perth market is shifting, the number of properties
for sale has dropped 13%, since the March quarter, to
3,269 listed for the quarter. This is 18% less than
the June 2018 quarter. There were 1,734 properties for rent in the South Eastern
corridor at the end of June, which is 4% more than
the March 2019 quarter. But, a significant 23% less,
than the June 2018 quarter. The number of properties
leased decreased by 14% in the southeast region, in the last quarter, to 2,872 properties. On a yearly basis, that
is a decrease of 12%. The overall median rent in the
region fell by $5 per week, to $340 during the June 2019 quarter. Compared to June 2018, that is still a positive of $5 per week for the southeast region. My name is Alex Stelbovics,
