Dollar Tree Fall Decorating On a Budget 2019

Dollar Tree Fall Decorating On a Budget 2019

hi everybody welcome to thrifty Thursday
today’s gonna be a little bit of a fun video because we went to the Dollar Tree
and I’m gonna share with you how I’m gonna make a decoration for the fall
season and it only cost me six dollars so this thrifty Thursday it’s gonna be
just a little bit different I was only able to get one thing at the thrift
store and that is the bread machine behind me I only paid two dollars for it
and that video is coming up in the beginning of next week I’m gonna share
with you all about that bread machine but I thought you know what this little
table here and I’m gonna panic here and show you it’s really quite plain and I
thought why not get something from the Dollar Tree to help decorate it up a
little bit and I’ll share it with all of you so this table over here right here
in this corner is really really plain and I always like having something
sitting here because when you walk in the kitchen door you can see it so I
thought okay well let’s see what I can find
Wow it’s a little bit late in the season I guess for the Dollar Tree because they
were sort out of so much stuff but I was able to get for six dollars I was able
to get something for this project and then I got something else for another
project so in all I paid eight dollars and forty
eight cents but I’ll show you what I got so I thought this was really cute
because we know what this time of the year is all about and that is being
thankful right so I thought this would be fun to get as something to put on a
table first thankful Dan they still had some of these so I was able to get some
leaves on a stem and then I got this and it says home
made on it I thought that was really cute
besides when the fall season is over I can always use this for something else
so I thought that was really cute they had one pumpkin left so here is the
pumpkin now I don’t care for the glitter so I’m gonna take that glitter off
because I like things really old-fashioned I’m not really a glittery
kind of person but my daughter’s oh my word
anything glitter they love it but I’m not really into that so I’m gonna take
the glitter off I know a lot of you are saying no don’t so what else I got was I’m gonna be
making candles here coming up next week but a lot of you said you don’t really
like having candles on you don’t like having them lit well these are perfect
now I’m sure all of you know what these are but these battery-operated little
candles are perfect if you want to have that atmosphere but you don’t want to
have the flame so I’m gonna use that then I got this plate it’s gonna put
everything together I’ll show you what we do when we work on it and then for
another project this isn’t for this project unless my hubby steals them from
me because he might my husband loves hot chocolate and things like that but I
thought these were adorable and they were only a dollar each now I’m
not gonna tell you what I’m gonna make with them cuz I want to keep that as a
surprise but I thought they were really cute yeah so that’s gonna be another
project next week but they are cute so we have a pumpkin we have a key to know
we have a plate we have some leaves so how we gonna put this all together well
let’s get working on it and let’s see what I had in my mind because I’m not
that big of a crafty person now I like making crafts that are just everyday
crafts like old-fashioned crafts so I’m not one of those really crafty kind of
people but the Dollar Tree you can’t go wrong
right so let’s get working on it but here’s the placemat which I really like
now black and gray is my daughter’s theme it’s not really my theme but let
me tell you then we really picked out of stuff so I got a great plate to go with
it so the pumpkin would just give it like this I know you girls are gonna
laugh at me but some of you understand a little bit my handicap when it comes to
crafts so I’m gonna cut all of these little leaves off of this stem I see a
lot of neat videos on things that people make but when you’re on a budget you
know you know even at the Dollar Tree you can spend you can spend money there
if you don’t really watch your budget I mean just because it’s a dollar doesn’t
mean it doesn’t add up so I’m gonna put the leaves all around I love these
little battery candles because they give you that really nice atmosphere and you
don’t have to worry about anything you don’t have to worry about the man
getting hot or anything like that so we’re gonna put this little lamp like
that hey cute this is actually I’m actually kind of liking this you know
what’d be neat is if you would hot glue these leaves to the plate now I don’t
have a hot glue gun so we’re just gonna do it like this and I’m almost thinking
this pumpkin doesn’t look right there I’m thinking about putting this pumpkin
somewhere else and I’ll show you where I put it
okay so people there you go hey it was cheap it was it was frugal and it looks
really neat I think it’s kind of pretty so we’re gonna go ahead and we’re gonna
put the pumpkin up on my one shelf over here and there we’ll just set the pumpkin
like that I think that’s cute so there we have my little centerpiece
and I actually think that looks pretty nice here’s our cappuccino cups I think
I better hide these before hubby you know what I might give these to hubby
and then get some get some more this they’re cute and he would really
like them alright so me show you just one other thing so I also wanted to
share with you that I’m going to be having a mailbox video coming up here
really shortly but I wanted to show you this and this is given to me by two
different people the tray and this was amazing because this is wicks for my oil
lamps which I have lit behind me and another dear person subscriber gave me
this antique glass canning jar some of these which I do have about four of
these now these are old fashioned jelly jars that you use paraffin wax to seal
which I’ve done videos on that and I have videos coming up and then a deer in
front of mine a sweet friend of mine got me this and so this is something I
picked up yesterday when I was going to the Dollar Tree so I want to thank both
you girls for your beautiful gifts and don’t worry those of you who mailed me
something I will be doing a mail call on that and I will show everyone I actually
probably gonna have that as a full video because it was so unique and I really
want to share focus on that but I just thought this was really cute this card
this German card and I just thought I wanted to show this really quick with
you I have a bread machine here as you see I’m going to be having some videos
where we’re going to be making bread and the bread recipes are whether you have a
bread machine or a mixer or just your two hands
I’m a year which I find so pleasant because I just love the fall time of the
year because the busy times of my harvesting is almost finished and so I
do have some retaining videos a couple of them coming up here and there were
bikini videos throughout the month because I can I can every month of the
year and so I hope you enjoyed this Dollar Tree
this little Dollar Tree haul I don’t do a whole lot of these simply because I
don’t really buy things that I don’t need this was a want and this was a fun
want sometimes in life you don’t have to be so hard on yourself you can give
yourself a little something that gives joy in your life take care everyone god
bless you and we’ll see you guys tomorrow
to those you who love Dollar Tree hauls I have a whole playlist of them I have a
prepper list where we were prepping using the Dollar Tree I have some Dollar
Tree decorations and I also have different food items that you can buy at
the Dollar Tree so check them out right here a bread machine here as you see for
two dollars then I got it half off I’m going to be having some videos where
we’re gonna be making bread and the bread recipes are whether you have a
bread machine or a mixer or just your two hands so I can’t wait to do that
this is a time of the year that I just find the most pleasant I’m just really
happy this is a time of year which I find so
pleasant because I just love the fall time of the air because the busy times
of my harvesting is almost finished

Thank you for such a cute craft! If I may ask please, why oh why did you not use the lovely real & fresh changing leaves in your area? I’m a FL transplant & so very much miss the Fall leaves & crafts we used to do with them.

    Hi Tessie sis.

I'm not super crafty either. You did a good job…'s cute! πŸ’œ

The "Homemade " jar would be good for a wax candle, too.

You can use any kind of glue or tape.

Really nice gifts from good friends.

    Love the music!

I found a farmers market where piles of different types of pumpkins were being sold, at really great prices. I got six, each a different, they look so pretty decorated with some of those fall leaves like you used in this video. I’ll be cooking them too. I love the fall!

Oh my goodness, the decoration turned out so adorable. I love that jar and it looks perfect on the plate with the leaves and the flameless candle inside. Like you, I am not at all into glitter. I like things to be more natural. What a welcoming touch to your kitchen when folks come through the door. Thank you for sharing your creativity. <3

Just shared on Facebook noted watching this video of your fall decorations made me think of my dear friend who lives up the road from me, whom I also see at cowboy church, who has her home decorated for fall, and that
you do NOT need to spend a LOT of money to make your home feel warm and welcoming whatever the season.

Your craftiness is just fine. The idea worked out well and adds a little bit of 'fall' to your home. Would you demonstrate how to set up and use an oil lamp someday. I have always wondered. We actually bought a couple for decorations in the 70's..yep, I am nearly 70..the kind used with bottled lamp oil that is scented. Never knew how to burn it though. Ended up with a smoky mess on the glass which was a pain to get off. From then on, it was only for looks. But, you never know when you might need to use it and I would like to be able to without burning the house down. Hahaha. Have a spectacular day Tessie.

I also love this autumn season, I was glad to see the "Blessed and Thankful" slogan. To me that's the reason for harvest season. Do you get alot of color around there? That might make some nice video.

Tessie, if you haven't already, you need to make yourself a coffee station. If you search "coffee station" in Youtube search, you can get some great ideas! I get very excited for your mail days, as back in the mid 90s, couponing was huge, and couponers were generous and share huge packages like what you get with each other, JUST BECAUSE! Be blessed!

Hello Tessie and all, Have a Blessed Friday. Joy is always good in life. I have been trying to find time to pick up my 1,000,000 + acorns and put them into some of my decorations, but do not know if I will ever have time with new milk goats and baby Pilgrim peeps which surprised me by flying out of their container after one week. My Rhode Island Reds never did that. It should be interesting when I put them together. A home should always be inviting and Tessie, you do it right. Thank you.

I look for dried grass seed heads, etc. in my yard, flower beds & add them to decorations I make from artificial flowers. Sometimes I lightly spray paint the seed heads for pops of color. I love doing crafts and teach myself new ones all the time. Your decoration is adorable and fun. I believe that we do need to be frugal and careful with what God gives us BUT sometimes we still need to give ourselves a special treat and get those wants as long as we don’t get silly about it. Now I want to go to the craft store. LOL!

That is a nice idea and I'm gonna use it for somthing else. On the 11th of November we have something overhere called 'Sint Maarten' (Saint Martin), and I love to decorated the way to my door, since childeren would walk over it with their lanterns and singing some songs for a handful of candy or fruit. It is a very old tradition. I guess a lot of people in the USA don't know who that 'Saint Martin' was, well he was a bishop from Southern Europe (Tours, France) who brought Christianity to the North. Besides that the most famous story about him is that he cut his cape in half and gave the other half to a beggar to protect him from the cold. Another one is that he proofed that God existst, the heathen (who believed in holy trees) asked him to take place for a tree while they cutting him down, he did. The tree falled down, and killed some heathen but didn't hit him.

I did this with a fall placemat & fall flowers & those leaves from the dollar store. Then we eat the butternut acorn & baking pumpkins ( from our garden) for our island decor.. I love the placemat..
